In The Division, we had different ambiances for each districts, subdivide to areas, then to spaces, with a complete day night cycle for each one them.

Besides the regular ambiances, we had the Dark Zone, located in the Center of Manhattan, the Dark Zone is the place where players fight each others, and find loots, So we needed to have a special ambiances for this area.
